Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal has officially split up on their three-year relationship, but sources say the split is ‘mutual and amicable.

The Hollywood couple began dating back in 2007 on the set of “Rendition". They briefly broke up once before only to get back together. However, this time, the break up appears to be permanent.

People magazine had reported that the couple broke up two week's ago, but their publicist denied it, confirming that the happy pair were still very much together. Despite all of this, the rumors refused to go away, and just weeks later  celebrity couple announced they're finally calling it quits.

The source added to E! Online: "They needed time to figure it out and they were on different coasts. When they were finally together, they talked it out and decided they're not going to be together anymore."
